Mezotex is an important supplier of meltblown and meltblown / spunbond fabrics worldwide. Meltblown is a polymer-based technology in which high-speed air weakens extruded fibers that are much thinner than spunbonds. These fine fibers create an extremely high surface area for many applications, especially filtering. Mesotex can supply monolithic meltblown fabric or composite fabric with spunbond on one side (SM) or both sides (SMS) of meltblown. This spunbond layer provides the additional strength required for applications such as medical or critical filtering. Mezotex has the ability to add cellulose pulp to meltblown fabrics if necessary. Binding is done either by calender or by ultrasound.
In addition to polypropylene (PP) meltblown products, Mezotex PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) meltblown fabrics are also produced. While PBT is used for filtering when resistance to chemicals and high temperatures is required, polyester-based TPU provides good compression, elasticity and high flexibility for applications that require stretching.
Mezotex’s Meltblown products are used extensively in the filtering environment with a high surface area of 6-8 microns. Mezotex has extensive experience and meltblown capabilities in the production of various weights of polypropylene (PP) polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU).
